What this site is
A growing library of in-depth, hands-on guides for cleaning, restoring, and maintaining residential outdoor cookers — gas grills, charcoal kettles, kamados, pellet smokers, offset stick burners, electric smokers, and Blackstone-style flat-top griddles.
Every guide is written from real experience: the same routines we run on our own cookers, explained so you can run them on yours. We focus on the BBQ care nobody in the cooking world teaches well — the maintenance side that makes the difference between a grill that lasts five years and one that lasts fifteen.
What this site isn’t
- Not a sales pitch. No hidden affiliate trackers. No email walls timed to your scroll. No pop-ups demanding a signup before the second paragraph.
- Not for commercial accounts. Restaurants, food trucks, BBQ caterers — out of scope. We write for homeowners with cookers in their backyards.
- Not a recipe site. There are great BBQ recipe sites; this isn’t one. We cover the cooker, not the cook.
- Not stock-photo content. Every guide is written; every recommendation is from real-world testing.
Editorial standards
A few rules we hold ourselves to:
- Original writing. Every guide is written from scratch. No regurgitation of generic advice from other sites.
- Date stamps and updates. Every post shows when it was published and when (if) it was last reviewed. Care guidance changes; we update accordingly.
- Cited claims. When we make factual statements (CDC reports, manufacturer specs, fire safety data), we name the source.
- Honest tradeoffs. When we say "do it yourself" or "hire a pro," we explain the math, not the marketing. Sometimes the right answer is "don’t bother."
- Corrections welcome. Found an error or an outdated recommendation? Email us and we’ll fix it.
Who runs the publication
Author identity coming soon.
The named author block lives here — full bio, photo, years of experience, brands serviced, specific credentials. We won’t go fully public until the editorial author is named and photographed; Google’s quality guidelines (and ours) require it for advice content like ours.
The site by the numbers
- 101+ in-depth guides covering grill, smoker, and griddle care
- 3 content pillars (Grill Care, Smoker Care, Griddle Care)
- 0 affiliate trackers, sponsored placements, or paid product promotions
- 100% hand-written, original guides — every word written specifically for this site
A residential cleaning service is launching
A residential grill, smoker, and griddle cleaning service is launching in select markets this season. The early list gets first booking access and founder pricing in your area. If a pro cleaning makes sense for you, join the early list.
The publication and the service are intentionally distinct — our guides will always tell you when DIY is the right call (it usually is) and when calling a pro makes sense (sometimes it genuinely does). The editorial side stays independent of the service side.
